Welcome to our website

We offer the unique experience of travelling in many countries by private vintage steam hauled train giving you the time and opportunity to view and enjoy the scenery. There may be the chance to stand on an open balcony, or open the window and smell the countryside.

We include most meals, many served in our own restaurant car on the train or served al fresco at an old station. Most of our charters are day-time only and we use hotels for overnight stays. Some tours – including the Southern African and the Russian tours - feature vintage hotels trains providing overnight accommodation, with hotel accommodation at our destination.

Where we use predominantly service trains, as in Canada, Switzerland and Norway, we devise unique itineraries and include special steam hauled programmes to complement the tour.

Christmas and New Year opening hours

The office is closed on the following days:

24th, 25th, 26th, 27th and 31st December, 1st and 3rd January.

Please note that day trip bookings can still be processed through the online booking system and any enquiry emails will be dealt with as soon as possible.

Our office is open between 9am and 3pm on 22nd, 23rd, 29th and 30th December and also on the 2nd January.

Our normal office hours resume on Monday 5th January 2009.
